An International conference on role and importance of family in development of inclusive education was held in Tashkent.
Asrlar Sadosi Festival 2012 Agenda
As in previous years, the upcoming Asrlar Sadosi (Echo of Centuries) Festival of Traditional Culture, a collaborative effort between Fund Forum and the UNESCO Tashkent Office, offers a broad variety of exciting events that will reflect Uzbek history, art and traditions. The Festival will be an opportunity to view exquisite applied art objects, to learn to make musical instruments, enjoy tightrope walker shows, to sample Uzbek culinary delights and to feast your eyes on masterfully crafted Uzbek national costumes among other activities.

UNESCO supports freedom of expression in Uzbekistan
UNESCO Office in Tashkent supports “Oltin Kalam” (“Golden Pen”) annual international competition for the National Prize in the field of journalism. It is 7th competition, which started as the national and became international 2 years ago, and organized by Creative Union of Journalists, Agency on Communication and Information of Uzbekistan, National Association of Electronic Media and International In-service Training Centre for Journalists.
Teachers built with 21st century skills
More than 6,200 school teachers in Uzbekistan have been trained on pedagogical technologies of the 21st century.
UNESCO presents handbook for better protection of paper-based documents
UNESCO Office in Tashkent released a new publication entitled “Handbook Policies and Procedures – Principle, Recommendations and Guidance for: Acquisition, Storage, Conservation and Communication”. Presentation of the handbook took place at the Al-Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Open Access to scientific information: Policy guidelines released
Addressing a major concern of Member States, UNESCO has released a new publication entitled Policy Guidelines for the Development and Promotion of Open Access to demystify the concept of Open Access and provide concrete steps on putting relevant policies in place.
Karakalpakstan to host Asrlar Sadosi Festival 2012
The fifth Asrlar Sadosi (Echo of centuries) Festival of Traditional Culture will be held on May 5-6 in Ellikqala District in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Tuproq Qala fortress and the world-famous Savistsky Museum of Art will become the central venues of the festival, which over the past 4 years has been a crossroads of traditions, arts, history and modernity. The festival is organized annually by the Fund Forum in collaboration with the UNESCO Tashkent Office.
